Many couples wait years before reaching out, often until things feel very stuck. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit. Here are a few signs couples therapy could help.
Signs it may be a good time
- You keep having the same argument, and it never really ends.
- One of you pursues and the other withdraws.
- Something big has changed: a baby, a move, an illness, infertility.
- Trust has been broken and you both want to understand what happened.
- You feel more like roommates than partners.
What therapy can and can't do
Therapy can slow conversations down, make the patterns between you visible and give you new ways to respond. It can't make a decision for you or guarantee an outcome. Some couples find their way back to each other; others find clarity about separating. Both are worthwhile.
My job isn't to take sides. It's to help you both feel heard.
If your partner isn't sure
Hesitation is common. A free consultation call is a low-pressure way to see what it might be like. You're welcome to book it together, and a hesitant partner can ask their own questions.
